“ | MH370 was not my fault. I'm so sorry. Please. | ” |
Shila Amzah was criticized, threatened, insulted and even asked to
leave China as part of the fallout from the MH370 aviation disaster. A
majority of the passengers on the aircraft were Chinese nationals and
hence some of the country's anger over the loss of their people were
directed at Shila because she was Malaysian. Shila was not the only
Malaysian to receive this kind of treatment as other Malaysian Chinese
artists were also turned into punching bags online. Fortunately, some of
Shila’s fan stood behind her and backed the singer up. "She is a
singer, not related with aircraft. She cannot represent the Malaysian
government!" said one of her fans.
